I'm having trouble with MSN, one of my friends are online but they are showing at being offline, they are online on their messenger.
I've tried sending them an IM but it says they are offline and cannot receive the message.
I have added and deleted them a number of times but this hasnt worked.
I have since had my hard drive reformatted but this has not sorted the problem
anybody got any tips?

Have either you or they accidently blocked the other one? If they'd blocked you, they could see if you were on-line but you would see them as off-line and the message wouldn't get through.
Remedy: Right-click the name in MSN and select "Unblock contact"

I would go to actions and request remote assistance and hope they can help
