I have a friend who can fall asleep just about anywhere. She is fine when she is moving around or doing something, but as soon as she sits or lays down in one place long enough with nothing to do, she starts to fall asleep. And it seems as though it doesn't matter how much sleep she has got for the day, she can still fall asleep if she is laying or sitting and not doing anything. Is this normal? If not, then what could the problem be?

In one case which i knw of just this year back, its sounds odd.
But , for me it looks like the posture. If you adcvise yor gal to improve posture, breathing rhythmically and it helps. It does need reminders to make sure she does it too! !!.

Practise further. Is there a de-sleep tablet,or a mint in case she askes.

your friend is probably suffering from a disease called sleep apnea, she should seek a dr, and ask for a sleep study test. this will make the determination to whether she has is or not and medication will be prescribed for her if so. this is very annoying for her and her friends. she is probably always tired also. this disease has be diagnosed only for a few years, but there is relief for it somewhat. good luck!

it sounds to me like she has a slight case of narcolepsy. tell her to go see her dr, then her dr can recommend a sleep specialist, that will then test her to see what her tendencies are. im not sure of the types of treatments available for this condition, but im pretty sure that there are some out there.
