How much to sell my ferret for?

I have a 1 year old male ferret. I got him for $100 but how much should I sell him for?

It depends on how much there going for in your state. I would do some research and call local pet stores to see how much they are charging. And if he is in good health and is good natured you should at leat get what you paid for him, if not more.

I would say around $75. That's generally how much shelters charge when adopting out ferrets. But why are you selling him? I would try getting him to a good shelter. If you bought the ferret and didn't know what you were getting into, I pity you.

Ferrets are very difficult to re-home, especially if you are thinking about selling, not giving it away.
The difficulty increases if you live in an area that has animal shelters and rescues within driving distance.
There are lots of ferrets sitting in shelters and some of them never find a home.
Ferrets are not easy to keep, nor are they cheap to take care of when it comes to food and vet care.
Try to find him a good home by posting on www.petfinder.com or ask your local vet if he knows anyone.

If you are having to find a new home for him I would be more worried about finding the right forever home where he will be cared for and not used for breeding, after that to put an actual dollar amount should be based on how much you put into his medical expenses if any and decide not to make money off what was your beloved pet.

It would depend on the market and supply in your area, and if you have him well trained..If he is trained and a good companion, you should still get the $100 for him..However, if he is a 'problem child', the price would drop considerably..

Look into local pet store prices. I would shoot for about $135. That is how much they are around here.
