I think they won a couple of years ago in the NAB cup, or whatever it was called back then, but the real premiership has eluded them since 1963. They have played and lost in four premiership matches from 89-95, losing to Hawthorn, West Coast twice, then Carlton.

Geelong's 2005 final against Sydney was a great game and Geelong should have won it. They had no answer to Nick Davis in the last quarter, however, and Sydney won by three points. It was one of those games where the loser didn't deserve to lose but someone had to.
As a Sydney supporter, I was pleased with the result but it was devastating for Geelong.

Although being relatively strong performers throughout the 1980s and 1990s (Grand Final appearances in 1989, 1992, 1994 and 1995), the Cats have not won a premiership since 1963.
