why wait for 1 year before you can cut a baby's hair?

A lot of babies don't have enough hair before one year to get it cut. For those that do have a lot of hair, it can be difficult to cut the hair of a squirming baby who doesn't want to sit still! After a year old, they are more likely to sit still long enough. But I do know some moms who got their baby's hair cut befre a year, it was just way too long.

some people wait 5 years before they cut their baby's hair depending on the parents, and how fast the child hair grows, and how long is it at the time you want to cut it? It is just better to wait to cut a baby's hair unless it is a boy and he is 3 and older. I wouldn't cut my 1 year old's hair. What is the reason why you want to cut it?

There aren't any rules on when to cut a babies hair. A lot of babies don't have enough hair before they are a year or so old to cut.

That's an old wives tale. I'm pregnant with a boy now and if his hair is half as long as my daughters was when she was 6 months I'm going to cut his hair. Theres no need for him to look like a little girl.

tender scalps perhaps? but i actually think that one year is just more of a milestone than of real significance.

besides unless your child has a head of hair like tom cruise's baby with katie, you should be fine before the year mark.

Some parents just don't want to because the hair is so cute. I didn't (but I think it was partially because my MIL kept bugging me to and I didn't want to give her the satisfaction....lol).
