If you and your friends have a budget in mind on what you want to spend and how long you want to stay there, consult a travel agent, who can find the best deals for you and your friends. A travel agent can take out a lot of the guesswork in where you can stay that is affordable and close to the beach. I have been to Hawaii and found that Waikiki Beach is a great place to stay and have fun, but check around to find the best package deals for traveling there.

Packages are normally better buys because you can get discounts on portions of your trip. Also once you get there you can attend a time-share presentation program that will allow you the opportunity to go on free tour or excursion in exchange for viewing their presentation.

Also, purchase a local paper because sometimes there are coupons in there for discounts on meals and other products such as "happy hour specials" which will help your money go farther.

I hope that this information has been helpful to you.

Everything is basically on a mile and a half stretch of the beach. Waikiki.... 99% of the hotels are in this small area

I book my travels through my friend's site. You can check the restaurants around the area too. It can show you which tourist attractions are in the areas. Check it out.

I went to the Big Island last year. (You're probably interested in going to Oahu.)

There are no cheap hotels in Hawaii, even a fleabag dump is $75 a night.
