My own kind? Humanity. Equivalent rights for all humans is what I would seek.

It is always the right thing to stand up for others rights. This country is about freedom. yet so many are not. So we must all stand up and say as long as no one is harmed in anything you do then do it. I don't care if someone is gay, lesbian, bi or straight. I feel as long as you are happy who cares and it is no one not mine or anyone else's right to say someone can not be happy.

Perhaps. It's also good to stand up for the rights of others, even that of whackos to say unkind, stupid, or ridiculous things.

Um, as a parent and a lesbian/gay female, there's a point when standing up for your kid is actually detrimental. Sometimes it's good to teach them to stand up for themselves!
