I mean, I am all for reducing greenhouse emissions and think we should do all in our power, but let's face it, the celebrities we worship seem to be a little too enthusiastic in preaching things to us and a little less enthusiatic in practicing them. I bet I produce far less carbon dioxide in a year than most of them produce in a week. Pain for one, pain for all.

There are over 5 billions of human beings on the planet who want to enjoy the comforts of central heating, airconditioning, electric lights, and drive suv's the size of minor planets as much as they desire. Generating power produces CO2 and no one wants to live in the stone age. It is not likely we can reduce the greenhouse gases enough to make even a small dent in it without huge sacrifices on everybody's part. But Al and his buddies need something to keep the spotlight on themselves, and this is a good one. So, the dance will go on, whatever happens. The mountains are in labor, and a ridiculous mouse will be born.

I agree...to some extent. Yes, they own mansions, fly on private jets, and perhaps own cars other than hybrids such as own Bentleys, Porches, other ultra-luxury cars which, as you know get poorer gas mileage than even the large SUVs.

But here's the thing. I've heard Al Gore drives a hybrid and has said that he will donate all of the profits from his book and DVD to the cause. How often do they use those private jets? I mean if it's once in a while I'm OK with it. If they always turn off there lights when NOT IN USE then it should be OK. I've heard that yesterday's Oscars, some celebrities who have been dubbed "limosine liberals" are not using those limos. Instead, they're using the all-electric Tesla sports cars. Read it here: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=119711. Despite owning a mansion, Laurie David says, "Everybody has to strike their own balance between how they want to live and how they can reduce their impact. If the environmental movement wants to be mainstream, it has to lose its purer-than-thou, all-or-nothing attitude. It has to be pragmatic enough to bring everyone onboard. If perfection is the measure, we will fail to appeal to anyone but the fringe. Sure, I have a big house, but I use it to gather hundreds of people for eco-salons. That's not to justify the size of it, but it does create opportunities to spread knowledge and raise money for the greater environmental good. Sure, I could always cut down on clothes and dry-cleaning, but the point is not necessarily what more you could do -- we could all do more -- the point is that we do our part. And even with the house and clothes, I think I can do, and am doing, my part." Read it here: http://www.grist.org/news/maindish/2004/06/16/griscom-david/index.html. So, she is doing something at least.

Also, if they want more SUPPORT for their cause what I suggest they do are these:
1. Since they have the money, they should buy solar panels to install on their roofs so they would not have to move into a small one.
2. They should replace their one-layered windows with those two-layered non-adjecent windows because it serves as insulation. This means they used electricty less for the AC/heater, there using less gas overall.

Since, I am critical of them, I'm glad Fox's "Hannity's America" is REMINDING Al Gore and others to be good examples. Also, I'm glad conservatives are pointing out the hypocrisy.

You do not need a scientific investigation or a Hollywood documentary to observe the noxious yellow brown haze spreading out across the planet or ascertain where it originates.
It is an obvious threat to the health and well being of the environment in general as well as the humane species.
Ignoring it, and demonizing those who are trying to confront and alleviate it, is tantamount to hiding your head in the sand and cutting off your nose to spite your face at the same time.

Hypocrite...probably. But how does that diminsh the importance of reducing pollution that contributes to global warming?

I hope you don't always judge the validity of an argument, simply by who the messenger is. Even complete idiots have flashes of brilliance and it may sometimes be worth the wait.
