Why Percy was called weatherby by Barty Crouch in the Goblet of Fire?

Percy's last name is Weasley. He just never gets it right and calls him Weatherby by mistake. Percy never sees fit to correct him. It is an example of two things:

How Percy is content to kiss butt with someone that important because he is the most pompous of the Weasleys. Remember how much of a tee-totaller he is when he makes prefect at Hogwarts, and how he is always poo-pooing everyone else?

The other thing it calls attention to is that Percy is really from a humble family. The Weasleys are very poor and overlooked by many in the wizarding community...I don't think Crouch knows or cares if he gets Percy's name right, he is just that insignificant to Crouch.

You also might stetch it to a foreshadow, that Crouch is more than capable of making a mistake. And he certainly does.

Nothin special. It just to make us know that Barty didn't regard Percy as a special person like he wanted to be. Barty didn't even remember his name

because barty didnt know or kept forgetting his real name since percy was just another low class employee.he confused it, instead of weasley he was calling him weatherby.

i think it was a combination of him not being able to get names right and i also think it might have been his prevoius assistant's last name.
