In India civil law is governed by religion. So muslims can follow shariat.A valid will by a muslim in UK is accepted in India.
Criminal law is not related to religion. Prison terms and fines are same for all offenders- Hindu,Muslim Sikh,Christians,Parsis,Buddhists,Jews and Atheists. There are no amputations and lashes to muslim criminals in India.
