Yes, It was up to then quite a good game, the young ones did very well, but I also think the referee got the red cards wrong, and why was lumplard left on he was right in there from the start of the fracas. And It was nice to see john terry recovered so quickly after being stretchered off again.

Cup finals are often highly charged affairs over recent years so what happened was not a one-off and definitely not representative of English football - heck most of the players aren't even British. It can happen anywhere in the world.
This is not attempting to rationalise or condone violence on the pitch but it does happen. Somehow over the years, sportsmanship has given away to win-at-all-cost attitude - when your side is down and time is running out, you'd do things you wouldn't ordinarily do in a normal game. It is the highly competitive nature of the modern game today everywhere. English football is light years away from the 'killer atmosphere' in Latin American stadiums. And because it is England, it will not go down to that level.

I won't say, that it was the WORST example, of English soccer, that I've EVER seen, - I CAN'T, because, there weren't MANY Englishmen INVOLVED! The fact is, that there are just TOO MANY overseas players, involved, in the English game! Personally, - I blame TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR, - they imported the FIRST TWO, that I remember, - Argentinian-born, OSVALDO ARDILES, and RICARDO VILLA! When THEY arrived, it seemed as though EVERY club, in the top flight "NEEDED" a "FOREIGN IMPORT"! Such things, though, are NONSENSE! How can ANYBODY expect ENGLISH players, to FLOURISH, when they're STIFLED, by the "FOREIGN LEGION"!

Up until the fight, it was an excellent and very entertaining match to watch. The fight was embarrassing for everyone involved, but it shouldn't take away from the fact that 99% of the game was top class. And the ref was pretty good, I thought.

it was a poor show but to be honest i didn't see it all but from what i saw the last 15 Min's or so it made me ashamed to argue with the fans on the Continent hang on? most the trouble was caused by players from the Continent.
