There are many polygamist communities out there, and although they are against the law, no one is doing anything. As one politician said, "Where are you going to put them all, there isn't room in the jails!", plus there is abuse, poverty, lots of the children, etc so it would be a big stress on tax dollars to get the people rehabed. Should we then just let the communities be, or should we think of a plan? Anyone have any ideas?

I've wondered the same thing for quite a few years. Why aren't these people arrested? I don't really care, as long as no one is forced to stay, or do anything against their will. But I have heard of such situations in some parts of Utah.

It does bug me to no end when there are federal laws, and therefore felons, known but ignored. And yet 100,000's of thousands get sent to jail for far less than felonies nation wide each year. That bugs me the most. It makes all policeman, judges, the whole judicial system, hypocritical. They can't just arbitrarily decide which laws to enforce. There's my two cents.

Either legalize polygamy, or arrest the lot. Even if that's 50,000 people. I hate hypocrisy in our legal system, it makes everything less legitimate.

Personally, I'd legalize it. It doesn't hurt anyone, if everyone in it voluntarily.

But if not, lock 'em up.

Live and let live. What is the problem? Ususally when the law gets involved, the wives and children go through sh!t because of the publicity. Let them be and let's get on with our own life.

If they have no problem with it let them enjoy it.In some communities and religions it is recognized and it is their right to be left as they are. They are not offending anybody anyway saying otherwise is tantamount to interference.

As long as people aren't being forced into anything they don't want to do, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to continue. It doesn't effect me. Let them make their own choices.
