My daughter got: popcorn in a pack, money, apple, few other unusual things

Halloween is not really celebrated in Australia & most people are not prepared in advance for the kids

I got a nickel. It may not sound like much now, but you could buy 3 pcs. of candy for 5¢ back in the '70s.

Every year until we moved someone would put in a toothbrush. Also, MacDonalds coupons for cookies or a drink. Thankfully I didn't get anything harmful like pins or razor blades in my candy, but I heard about other children getting stuff like that. Now you have to be so careful. sigh

Yes, Once I received a toothbrush! Not a bad idea.. Another time I remember this woman giving out money because she ran out of candy.

We used to get Pennies.
One of my kids got old Wendy's kids meal toys from some cheap bastard down the street.
My wife is a cheapskate and buys one bag of candy every year saying 'We never get that many kids". Every year I buy extra and hide it. And of course we end up needing it.

This year my mom handed out string cheese, I told her it wasn't a good idea but she is going a little crazy. I felt sorry for the kids who knocked on her door and had bacteria-ridden cheese the next morning.

last haloween, i went to this mans house, an he said he forgot it was halloween, he thought he gave me a dollar, but when i opened it up at my house, there was 1 $20 and 3 $5it was soooo cool

yes some ppl gave me money, chinese resturants would give me fortune cookies or pennies, i used to get gift cards and once i got a cell phone flier...
