We can begin by eliminating the last offense to African-Americans. That is the U.S. Government paying reparations to the descendants of former slaves. You see, America has paid to rebuild Germany, France, Japan, and Russia after WW2. They(U.S. Government) paid the Japanese Americans for imprisonment during WW2. The Native Americans are benefiting from economic revitalization via Gaming(not all Tribes). However, the very fact that when this was a fledgling upstart nation its dependence upon slave labor was as crucial as its current dependence on foreign oil.
The Tobacco industry, The Cotton Industry,Railroading, and certain Banking Institutions all profited via slavery. The nation as a hold enriched itself through slavery. The sad outcome resides in the ideology of superiority.
Someone commented that the NAACP and other agencies like it should be eliminated along with Affirmative Action. If not for agencies of that type the civil rights of others would continue to be trampled.
To argue that this can not be done is ludicrous--for example; did you know that upon destroying Saddam's regime in Iraq--the US sent Billions of hard currency to Iraq via Military courier. Unfortunately, most of the money is missing/ misappropriated.
This is not an appeal to get paid! This is an appeal to remove the last bastion of economic oppression ; the utilization of "JIM CROW" laws impeded the growth of African American economic viability. However, under segregation our perspective as a people was more communal. Now, we are estranged, polluted, intolerant, and influenced by images of Gangstaism and the devaluation of African American women.
All of this benefits covert racism, it further exaggerates placism. Until every aspect of our national capitalistic imposition of slavery has been eliminated and the desendants of the formerly enslaved are fully compensated--the Racist Ideologs-will continue to spew their venom and use ignorance to control the destinies of all people of color.

Well blacks hold the key to solving the problem, when they act like equals as a whole then they will be treated as equals. Look at the ones that have worked hard, educated themselves, not had a gazillion kids out of wedlock, speak properly, and have rejected the gangsta life. They are doing very well for themselves.
The ones that hold onto those values(for lack of a better word) are the ones always complaining about racism. They just use racism as a crutch for not getting their way or either call those "values" a part of black culture so they can claim racism when they didn't get a job and they won't even speak English properly.
No one is holding these people down but themselves.
There is all the difference in the world between treating people equally and attempting to make them equal.

Improve through TIME? You sure have missed out! It's been hundreds of years and folks are STILL just as bigoted and hateful as always. Racism will never change because people have free will. The dominate ethnic group is also the most proficient in racist matters and go unchecked. They started it and built on it. Fear is the foundation and the need to have control and power is the drive that keeps racism going. Until every ethnic group is deemed equal this is a racist society and since this equality will NEVER happen because the one group believes it is superior,
it will remain a racist society.

We are healing. In my neighborhood, we all practice being as nice as can be to each other. At this point, we have people of all stripes in the racism business that are out to provoke more. Take away their tools.
1. Stop saying that "only white people can be racists"
2. Stop saying "we are all a little racist deep down."
3. Stop listening to people who want to tag today's innocents with the sins of their fathers or someone else's fathers.

You could introduce a religion like Christianity that believes in love, tolerance and acceptance. A lot of Americans call themselves Christian but they aren't.

I think it is going to take a lot of education. I mean there are still people out there who think the KKK is right, and that white people are superior! I think we need to have our kids learn less about US, and more about the world. We are creating ethnocentric ideals in our children, when we should be teaching them to have pride in their country while respecting and learning about other cultures.

"Solving" racism in America is about as realistic as me telling you that you are NEVER again allowed to urinate or breathe oxygen.
Racism can never be resolved but its' harmful effects can be managed through education.
