It hasn't always been like this, but for about a year now, I've been punishing myself too harshly for the mistakes I make but I can't help it! Im tired of feeling guilty for things I shouldn't even care about, but what can I do?

There are many things you can do. What I do:
I don't blame myself for my ignorance, if nobody ever told me. there's no existent book which will tell what I will do and when, I have to discover most of the things by myself with the mistakes which will come with being a human.
If I made the mistake (small or a big one), I admit it if people ask and I move on. I don't need to punish myself more than needed, I will pay for the mistake anyway one way or the other: financially, socially or mentally. I only know, I learned from it and I will try to do it better next time. Despite it sometimes happens again, slightly different do.
But the positive thing about this all: after a while you can look back with a smile and tell yourself, Yes! I made that mistake and I learned from it. It's quite funny too look back and see your own funny stupidities. ;- )

you just need to realize without mistakes you cant grow....most people learn something from their mistakes and you should to and take that as a lesson learned...its the only was to learn sometimes

Try thinking about some of the good work, and good choices you have made.
