While no generalization is completely true for everyone in a given locality, people in certain countries do often tend to act slightly different than the people in others.

In most of the industrialized/developed nations (in Europe and East Asia for example), people seem to be considered more formal than Americans -- less likely to smile and strike up a conversation with a complete stranger, and perhaps a little less likely to shout and act silly in public! In particular, I have heard this to be true of Germany, France, Russia, Japan, and China. However, I've heard this may not be true of Spain, Denmark, and New Zealand, but I'm not sure about the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.

Would anyone happen to know of any other industrialized/developed nations, besides the United States, where the people in general are informal, friendly, outgoing, and exuberant?

Thanks!

Canadians are very friendly, but less likely to be as noisy in public as Americans. My sister-in-law and daughter have spent time in Australia and found them to be very outgoing and friendly too.

I believe that Hawaii is the correct answer. There is many different nationalities that lives is the same communities. Hawaii has the most loving people in the whole world and most if not majority of the people have no prejudice against others who are different.

you might check the other yahoo answers sites to see what types of questions are asked....that may give you a good insight.
