It's been 9 months now!
He had left home a year earlier. He went missing on the morning of his 18th birthday. He just took a couple of things he owned & before the sun came up, drove off.
He never told a soul of his plans & intentions. Never gave notice or picked his pay up from work!
The police wouldn't help because they said he was 'of' age now & probably having a great time wherever he was.
I went to them 2 days later & they said they'd put out an APB on his car, then said his car was not registered in his name.- Well they had no car registered to him & said he just probably didn't want to get in touch with me.
I keep praying for him to come home, but where he thinks I live - well that house burned down.
He still hasn't contacted anyone I know. hyelp!!!
His name is Benjamin David Nancarrow We... well I know I am- are in Australia & you can also contact. me at ..Dingogirl39@ yahoo.com

Because you son is an adult, the Police will not search for him, beacuse in the eyes of the law, he is free to do as he wills.
In the UK, the Salvation Army have a VERY good track record of tracing people, they found my father's parents after they went missing after the war and my father returned to London to find they had disappeared.
I don't know if you have the Salvation Army over there in Oz but if you do, give them a go. The other thing to do is hire a private investigator. They are not cheap, but they get the job done.

How sad this is for you. If it has been 9 months he should be listed as a missing person. If he has any contact with centrelink if he is not working or has claimed a benefit at any time the police are able to look into his records. The salvation army also offer a family search service. Good luck

I wish I could help you. I am disgusted with the police.
It makes you wonder if they have children. If it were one
of theirs you can bet your bottom dollar they would do
all they could to find them. Pester the police, enlarge
photos of your boy and put them up wherever you can.
Here in the U.K. we have photographs of missing persons
on the side of plastic milk cartons. You could also try
the radio stations. But try and not give up hope. I cannot
imagine what you are going through. My son is 18 and I
worry every time he goes out - you never know what they
can get up to!! It may well be that he feels all grown up
took himself off because he thought it would be fun - now
as the time as gone on he is frightened to come home
because of what you'll say to him. At least if you can make
some kind of contact (his friends?) for him just to let you
know he is safe and well, that would be everything.
Wishing you all the luck in the world. I hope he returns
to you soon.

Okay. Was he like mad about something? Like stressing school, freinds, athletics, or just peer pressure? These make teenagers go loco and sometimes they jsut want 2 get away from everything. If he has his cell call him over and over. Talk 2 his friends right now! They might know something. I'm so sorry and I'll pray for you and your son! Best wishes!

hi, i am so sorry to hear about your heartbreak, but write to say, a friend of mine,s son , did just that, and was away for five years. when he came back, he did not show remorse, he felt that he was dong what he wanted to do , which shows his youthful thinking.. during that time, she was bereft, and it has left her a changed and sad person, eventhough he is home.
i often tell her that he should know how his failure to let her know that he was ok has left her broken, and wonder if i should do so.many mothers are thinking of you, and beg your son to say, "see you soon, mum, i am ok" . lol

I think the Salvation Army sounds like a good idea. I'm going to try it myself. I looked up the link for you since you're in Australia: http://www.salvos.org.au/need-help/family-tracing/
Good luck and God bless!
