Because rich people can buy anything they want. They never have to worry about inadequate treatment in hospitals because they get what they pay for. If they don't like their looks they can buy a new face. Because in this capitalist society money makes the world go round and it's the only language that people seem to understand.

Some people love the beach so much ... they want to live there.
Might as well build a berth for the yachts. The large one that requires a crew and the 30 footer that a guy can take out by himself.
You don't have to be rich to enjoy life ... but you do to enjoy expensive stuff.

because money gets many thing you may want that lead to security and comfort. everything, from power and control for the rich and greedy to cheeseburgers and beer for the poor and homeless. how would you like it if you did not have a boss to answer to. if you could just wake up, eat your wheaties and golf all day. if you did not have to worry about your junky car or truck breaking down on the way to work. if you owned your home, and it wasn't a cardboard box. if you could spend the rest of your life helping others instead of 7 hours sleep, 10 hours work, and 7 hours house keeping? it's all a facade. we don't need $, we need love!~!!

Vacations wherever you want

Why wouldn't anyone want to be rich. Even if you desired none of those things, Being rich will provide financial security througout retirement.

People are saying it takes the burden off of everyday living, but most people who want to get rich spend whatever income they have. If they have a million bucks, they will live like they have a million bucks, not like they earn 50 000 dollars a year, so they will still stress.
I don't want to be "rich" per se. I want my family income to be 60 000 per year (Canadian) so that we can have kids, live in a lower-middle class neighborhood, and still go on vacations. Anything more I might want but it wouldn't be necessary.

It's obvious that you have NEVER been poor or had to do without even basic needs. It means freedom from restrictions of financial limitations to be rich and it is a natural drive to improve ones life and the ability to provide necessities for the family.

I believe they think that money can buy happiness. I saw a show about lottery winners. So many had such hard times and horrible experiences afterward.
