I woke up this morning with a little bit of pain next to my clitoris. I have felt this before, but this time i looked at it with a mirror thinking it's some sort of minor irritation. However, I was shocked to see what appeared like a swollen blood vessel coming from under the hood by the urethra. It is filled with dark blood and hurts when i touch it. It isn't very big but it's protruding. I am very worried that it's something that won't go away. Does anyone have an idea what this might be? I haven't had sex in over a month and haven't done anything down there that might have physically caused this. I started exercising recently and stretching a lot. Could this be the cause? Please let me know if you have any information. Thank you.

I'm not a gynecologist but I have what you are speaking of with in relation to a vein popping up. I have as one of my many medical problems a condition called pelvic congestion syndrome. Pelvic Congestion syndrome is a more technical name for varicose veins of the pelvic area.
Pls see your dr to find to have this area checked out.
