Because caterpillars and their adult stages are one if not the most popular insect groups, there are many books available at any book stores like Chapters, Coles or Amazon. There are many field guides with fantastic detailed pictures that will lead you to an identification.

I think you need to supply a little bit more information than that. Appearance, discriminating factors, geography, etc.

Try joining an entomology forum, post a picture on there and wait for an identification.
