anyone know any websites where they dont require you to send them a doctor's prescription since I have perfect vision and don't want to spend alot of money on an eye exam just to get some contacts. I just want to wear them for style.

Well most sites do require you to have a prescription or at least check with your eye doctor to see if its okay to get contacts. You said you have perfect vision, so why would you want contacts? If you are looking to purchase color lenses, the better deals are on sites that require doctor's approval. You do not need a prescription though, just an approval by your eye doctor.

I was able to get away with purchasing colored contacts on lensquest.com but I had put in a false number. Since they were not able to contact my real doctor they still sent the contacts anyway because I had already paid. They let me get away with that once which is why I had to end up going to another site located overseas only to pay six times the amount it cost me at the first site!

The only sites that do not require doctor's approval or prescription are sites that charge three times the cost of the contacts to start off with! I had to pay $60 for one pair of contacts when I can get three sets of contacts for $30! It is not worth the extra money, just give your doctors information--since you have perfect vision you should not have trouble getting contacts unless your doctor disapproves of it.

I am legally blind in my left eye so I really cannot wear contacts for vanity unless they are prescribed--even though I have, I do not do it anymore because I do not want to lose the little sight I do have left! One day when I can afford prescribed contacts I will get them but its really expensive since my vision is bad.

Look it up in a search engine if the following sites do not work for you...you could also try your luck with Lensquest since they let it slide the first order but my second order was not able to go through. There are sites that dont need doctorial info but all sites need a prescription even if there isn't one! You have to make one up and since you have good vision you can just put 0.00/0.00 so that way the contacts will have no impairment or correction in them. Hope this helps!

If you just want coloured contacts, I don't think you need prescriptions however you SHOULD visit an optometrist because:

A) They can give you free color contact samples/free contact lens samples in general to try out.

B) They can measure your eyeball to see which contacts would fit on your eye the best and not bunch up/fall out and irritate your eye on a daily basis. Trust me hon, this HURTS if they don't fit right. And a lot of contact lens manufacturers have different sizes like 16.7 diameter, or 18 diameter etc, all made for different eye shapes. You don't want to buy contacts and find out they don't fit your eyes afterwards - it's a waste of money.

C) They can give you an idea of which contacts you want to buy, so you can go online and score them for cheaper than if you were to buy them from the optometrist' office.

http://www.visiondirect.com is what I use. I have a prescription but they've never needed to see it.

Oh and a lot of contact lens manufacturers like Johnson & Johnson also offer free coupons on their website to bring to the optometrist to try out.. but most optometrists have a ton of free sample contact lenses from all the manufacturers that they give out as trial packs to consumers to test before buying.
