Kevin is a very talented writer. He himself admits that visually he isn't terribly skilled, but since his movies are dialogue-based, it doesn't really matter to his fans.

I think Kevin Smith has a gift for capturing the slightly bent side of real life, but I don't really think he's shown a gift as a film make - at least not in the same way that you would consider Clint Eastwood or Martin Scorsese a gifted film maker. In Chasing Amy and Jersey Girl, I think Smith showed he has real potential as a film maker capable of making good movies with real emotion and compelling stories - rather than fan boy entertainment pieces about slacker culture. Don't misunderstand me, I like all of Kevin Smith's movies, I just don't think they have risen to the level of quality film making.

I think so but not as much as he seems and i think hes kind of full of himself and he thinks of himself as some kind of a superior.
