Celebrity news is easier. It's the shiny object to our attention spans of the world around us. It's the easily digestable cotton candy for our minds. The Iraq War is a little tougher to swallow

I don't think that the people are. Corporate America has been trying to convince everyone that we should be, though. They have a lot at stake -- a popular uprising (re: revolution/civil war) would definitely drain their bank accounts, possibly strip them of their holdings, and might even lead to the downfall of capitalism as we know it. Therefore, distracting us and making us feel isolated is their highest priority at the moment. Other than destroying the environment and stealing from the poor, that is.

Because people are sick of the war.It never changes really. This blew up,this many died,so-and-so is going to jail for shooting somebody(even though that's what they were trained to do).The media goes on and on about the same things. We never see a good side to it.All the men and women over there have my respect and best wishes, but we don't ever hear about them unless it's something bad. They do something good, and it goes pretty much unnoticed.
Celebrities are constantly changing and doing dumb stuff.A lot more entertaining then the same thing over and over again.

I have asked a question similar to this about why the media hypes Donald's and Rosie's feud. Now it's Anna Nicole's death and Britney's shaved head. I wanna know where Osama is and why the military can't get to him. But the media keeps hyping Britney.
