Because Bush is doing such a terrific job of managing terrorism? Or for other reasons? If so, what?

What's the object of terrorism? Wouldn't another attack right now be an attempt to create what already exists? Aren't the goals of the terrorists unfolding right now...without their having to do anything?

I honestly think that 9/11 was the result of a perceived "blood feud" going back to the incomplete bombing of the WTC years before...The "terrorists" usually want to retaliate with "an eye for an eye" type of attack. (Though I would say that, by now, we have built up more than our share of "reasons" to be attacked---so, there are probably some folks out there in terrorist-land just waiting impatiently to "get us back".)

I don't think Dubya has done a thing to beef up our "terrorism management skills." There were already many anti-terrorist law enforcement groups in place before Dubya took (and I DO mean "took"!!!LOL) office.

Even with all of the fear generated by the 9/11 attack, we are very naive, as a populace, when it comes to keeping an eye out for terrorists. I heard an Israeli talking about how EVERYONE in Israel is on constant guard for bombs and plots. About two days later, I saw an unattended back pack outside of a major department store for hours; no one paid any attention to it. (In Israel it would have been surrounded by a bomb squad within 5 minutes!!!)

While I think that many Muslims in the ME abhor our "godless" ways, I think that they have to be provoked in specific ways to begin to mount planned attacks. For the most part, they don't just go off half-****** on suicide missions because they don't like us. The Iraqis that I've met and spoken with here are usually just glad that they are not still in the middle of the Iraq Civil War. But, I think that Bush's whole policy of "War on Terror" (which is impossible--how do you fight an emotion!!???) has created many, many more terrorist-attack-minded people in the world!!

I think Al Aaeda or Taliban what ever they call it. I think they completed their goal, to scare Americans. I also think 9/11 took years to plan and for all we know it could have been a inside job.

But i gotta admit, the US sure beefed up security, but if there was to be a terrorist attack in the US, i am sure it would be done by the people we least expect....Americans, well mostly white americans or just about any american. We focus to much on muslims thinking their all are terrorists but we also forget there are many white american terrorists and with all the attention on Muslims they can do their plans more freely.

Well that's what i think.

My opinion sort of relates back to right after 9/11 happened and all the information we heard constantly about Al Queda and their tactics. One of the things that stuck out to me was the observation by many experts that Al Queda takes an average of 5 years to plan their large scale attacks. I suspect that Al Queda isn't interested in performing any small scale terrorist actions such as a few suicide bombers or a small bio attack in one city, on American soil. I think, if they are going to attack us again, it will be something planned to be even more spectacular than 9/11. We are the Great Satan to them and it's hard for me to imagine them wanting anything less than a 9/11 grand scale type attack. Our ports are vulnerable, our borders are porous. I have no doubt if they wish to be here they can get in. I echo another person on YA who consistently points out that if we can't keep out illegals how can we keep out terrorists?

I hope I'm wrong, but it just seems to be common sense. I don't walk around in a constant state of fear, I won't let them affect me that much. But it is something that gnaws at me from time to time - especially when there is a large scale gathering going on in the country. Such as Super Bowl, or New Year's in Times Square, or the Democratic/Republican Conventions. I know they are well secured and I count on that. But, I think it crosses every American's mind from time to time.

I would have to point out BEFORE 09/11 there were not many terrorist attacks on US soil either.

I think Bush is doing a good job managing terrorism at home, but so was everybody before him, and there were a number of attempts during the Clinton administration also. Osama has been at it a while now.

And I am not sure how much credit/blame really belongs to a president on this one. He sets the priorities, he does not do the nuts and bolts of stopping the actual attacks.

So, I would give him an 'A' after 9/11, although I am not happy with his methods. Clinton did it without comprimising all our privacy.

That said, I think sooner or later something is indeed going to get through. No matter who is at the helm at the time.

Sheeple People who refuse to accept the fact that the Bush administration Orchestrated the Terror Attacks of 911 are just plain ignorant. It's impossible for Jet fuel or Kerosene to melt iron...LOOK AT THE PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS. Also if the floors collapsed causing a chain reaction it would have taken well over 90 seconds for the buildings to come down. They came down at free fall speed....9 seconds. There is no logical argument here. Explosives were pre-planted in the building. Case closed! Why are so many people having a hard time accepting this?

Because they have nice easy targets over in Iraq and Bush is doing such a great job alienating the rest of the world they wont need to resort to terrorism. Also think of all the new recruits they are accumulating.

You know thats a good question. i think it has a lot to do with many things. After 9/11 we all realized we are targets and clamped down on security. We are definitely more aware of what can happen, which helps decrease the amoutn of terrorism that could happen in the U.S. I also think that it takes so much time to plan a terror attack. It has been lees than 6 yrs since 9/11 and something so massive must have taken many many years to plan out.

Our clamp down on security, along with the time it takes to plan an attack are the reasons why. Also the clamped security has gotten spoiled plots to attack Florida and the Sears Tower in Chicago. So an attack is something that could still happen, but it will take much longer and be much harder to do.

Because the terrorist organization that carried out the attacks on september 11 accomplished their goals of bringing fear into the very heart of America. The fear is still controlling the people today, 6 years later. Though none of us can really be sure what their exact goal of the attacks were that is my two cents on the situation.

Bush and his henchmen can't find another idiot like Larry Silverstien to donate a piece of property substantial enough to cause the same reaction as they did on 9/11. The only 'Terrorists' we need to worry about here are in the government you ignorant sheeple.
