Bonding with sugar gliders can be a slow process. The best reference I've found for bonding is here: http://www.sugargliderinfo.com/Bonding/ If you follow the instructions there, go slowly, and don't rush it things will usually go quickly. I had a girl that was just terrified of me, and after a month of following this guide she is 10X happier. Also if your girl is by herself, getting another glider friend for her might help. They can get anxious, bored and depressed if they are housed alone, no matter how much attention you pour into them.

For cage cleaning, it is recommended to do a good cleaning once a week, or every other week and wipe down the cage with a wet towel every other day.

Diet is VERY important for sugar gliders, so many people just feed fruit and nuts which is increadibly unsuitable for them. There are a few proven diets that are great and balanced and they just love them. Here is a link to making BML : http://www.sugargliderinfo.com/NutritionAndDiets/leadbeat.html I use this and it's quite easy. Here is a link to the Suncoast diet: http://www.sugar-gliders.com/glidervet-2.htm#suncoast which is also very easy.

Feel free to email me at jhessail1@yahoo.com if you have questions, or go to http://www.sugarglider.net - it's a great forum I'm on ALL the time and always learning something new :)

Is it even legal to have her at all? She is a wild animal so when she hears an unusual noise she's scared and on her guard. If she was hand raised she wouldn't be as jumpy. You will never bond with a wild animal. Sorry. It *could* be dangerous to keep her. Wild animals carry diseases. Did you know Sugar Gliders should always be kept in pairs! They will die without another one.

Any time you get an animal you need to do some research to find out their needs and habits. Since you haven't done your homework on her you really shouldn't keep her.

Here's what you should have checked out already: http://www.skinhorse.net/gliders/

My friend had a sugar glider and it liked to sleep in these little pouches that we made for it. They will even learn to ride around in your pocket. She feed hers lots of different kinds of fruits and vegetables, even yogurt plain and flavored, it was kind of trial and error it didn't like mango's. She found different web sites that were helpful, because they need to have certain things in their diets in order to keep them healthy. Aren't they the cutest little things with their big eyes.

Wow those lil things are crazy, they sound like mad mice or something.. Just like every other animal bonding is the more time you are with her the better she will like you.. They do sleep during the day and they can get into everything so be careful with them..

I own one myself. They love crushed almonds for a treat. They aren't allowed sugar or chocolate. They can eat sugar free foods and for meat they love crickets. When I first got mine it growled at me to try and scare me but I just reached in and held her. Keep showing it affection and she will bond with you. After awhile I could carry mine on my shoulder and it would stay there.
