i saw something in the woods... what the hell do you think it was?

i was in the woods with my friend we stopped sat on a drain pipe and were talking about life. i was looking down and saw something slimey and green come out of the pipe like ooze (think the pink stuff in ghost busters) it went forward then turned up like it looked at us um didnt seen any eyes but i was scared so i dont know. then as if it got scared too it sucked it self in to the pipe. i thought to myself what the **** and looked at my friend to see if she had seen it too and she looked at me pale as a ghost with the same face i was making i said hopped up and we both ran about 8 miles before we stopped and said what the **** was that?? what the hell could it have been??? this is a suburban neighborhood with a couple woody reserves...that was about 8 years ago i was about 16/17. we werent on drugs and we arent crazy. anyone have any guesses???

just glad it didnt eat me that would of sucked.

nah, i never went there again. i stay away from things that seem like the begining to a bad horror movie.

i'll look into the yoga thing...pollution ya a toxic bubble i could see that...do you think snakes get that big?

I don't know, that sounds really strange. I saw something strange in my own back yard a few years ago, and my dog saw it too (so I know I wasn't seeing things). I still think about it and wonder, and I'll probably never know what it was. Did you try to go back and take another look, or think to get a camera?

This COULD be a phenomenon occuring when a gas is trying to exit a pipe clogged with 'slime' or gelantanoes chemical waste.

Okay, try this at home. Take agar agar, or jelly mix. Add 2 portions of agar agar and one portion water, let it sit still. Aftetr awhile, it should form somekind of goop.

Now, take a straw and draw some of the goop up. Big straw. Finally, try blowing gently into the straw.

When the gas exits, the excess goop should resemble like what you saw. A slime monster looking up at you. And if the goop is elastic enough, the moment the gas exits the goop should reconnect with the goop inside the straw. Resulting in something like the good retreating.

Believe it or not but sightings of blobs in relation to paranormal phenomena is more common than you think. Their appearance seems to defy any explanaition however. Ghosts tend to appear in humanoid shapes to terrify the living. In a way it tells us that they are still emotional about their former lives and wish to act out their anger or remorse about life on unsuspecting humans. But there are many other types of ghostly encounters that seem to be just a hiccup in the realm of reality such as sightings of shadow people/animals, materialization of buildings/road signs/storms that later vanish or change back to present-day form and things like phantom stone throwers, psychic animals and blobs. The speculation is that there is a telepathic realm with its own supposed 'ecosystem' of telepathic personas. The creatures of this realm sometimes practice their shapeshifting abilities on us for fun, which is what leads to these confounding reports.

Kelven K has a good explanation or it could have been a Grass Snake hiding in the pipe.
When a teenager stepped on one tiring to catch the blue racers. thought I'd stepped on a rattlesnake in my mind it looked awfully big trying to strike me with its fangs.

It may have been an Elemental trying to scare the crap out of you. Looks like it succeeded. These types are in it for shock value sometimes.

Could be a demon playing with your mind, they can take any form, or some experiment the government flushed down the drain.

Toxic Waste
Alien from outer space
Snake
Drainage

Someone polluting down the main pipes,
it turning to look up at you was just gasses releasing and it was just moving the gooey slime.

So with that and imagination you had a creature from the darkest woods. where in fact it was just pollution.

It was probably runoff from whatever was at the other end of the drainpipe. It was probably friendly runoff. I hope it looked at you kindly. I hope you haven't been fretting about it for eight years.
