Because there is no "I" in the word TEAM, which means that by definition a team cannot exist if the members do not work together. The word cohesive co = with (ad)hesive = to stick/glue = stick with/together is the definition of TEAM

cohesiveness, or the ability to bond together is very important for an effective team....without cohesion a team would self destruct or defeat the purpose of forming a team in the first place.....without cohesion the members of the team would drift into their own cliques or sectors....think of cohesion as the coach that keeps the team working together (sport example) without cohesion there is no team, there are only individuals

it's not. it depends on the goal or reason for forming the team. put something sticky on your paper to prove your point.
