How can I stop people from cutting me of the net??

Let me guess, you're hooked up on the extension and you get disconnected whenever someone picks up the phone in the main connection, right?

Nothing much you can do about it except ask people not to do that when you're online!

Jeff, maybe you can get DSL service. Others can use a phone on the same line at the same time your computer is connected to the internet. Service through AT&T starts around $14 per month.

Hooo.. So somebody keeps unplugging you. Just keep the line jacks above the fold for kids. Also disconnect any extention phones while using net.

keep them from pulling the plug on your phone line?

nobody can stop you from using the internet other than acutally pulling the cord, or if you stop paying your phone bill.

sometimes your modem has settings that can help you from being disconnected, call your provider or check out their site for tips on setting modem up.
