I bought a movie for DOWNLOAD from a movie site. (I paid for the movie with a credit card and then was allowed to download the movie). Anyway, I wanted to import it into Windows Movie Maker to crop it to my liking. It then says it cannot import the video due to copyright protection.

How can I import it to windows movie maker? Would it work if i uploaded it to a hosting site then re-downloaded it? Is there a way to crop the video without windows movie maker?

Try www.dvdrhelp.com Lots of free software there. I used DVD Shrink and DVD Fab Decryptor alot. Don't know if those will help or not.

vlc media player you can crop and change the aspect ratio. I don't know if it will allow you to permanently change it and rewrite the file, but you can change it while your watching it.
