It is also a song--something like "When an irresistible force such as me meets an immovable object like you . . . something's gotta give . . . "
Anyway, it just means that when to opposing forces keep pushing, eventually something will give and move. For example, if you keep trying to push a very heavy vehicle, it will either eventually move or you will wear out and "give."

Never heard of that movie but something has gotta give actually means that in the event of an argument, one side has to capitulate (give) a little for there to be a conclusion to the debate. Otherwise, you got a mexican standoff.

It is a movie starring 'Jack Nicolson, Diane Keaton, Amanda Peete, Keanu Reeves'. I think Ms. Keaton got an oscar nomination a few years ago.
I guess it means there has to be a compromise, so somebody would have to give up something.

It means "got to". "Got to" itself is a replacement for "have to". The usage of the word "got" used to be unacceptable, but not anymore. This degradation of our societies language is just one more example of how much our nation is crumbling.

Yes, there is a movie with this title. Something has got to give means that there has to be a solution.
