There are a great number of reasons as to why some kids do drop-out such as: money problems (they have to work instead), social problems (problems among classmates), family issues (they have children), frustration (don't get along with teachers, or can't grasp the class material), some are slackers (lazy and don't want to five the effort), and some people's personalities just do not seem to mix well with the school environment (structure, grades, teachers). Dropping out does not necesarily mean that the person isn't smart. Luckily there is the option for the person to recieve a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) which can be looked at as the same thing as a high school diploma. There are plenty of people who have well-paying jobs, who did not graduate high-school, but there will always be positions that require the degree. As a general view from our society is that one should complete high school, for most people will hold them in higher regard, they will recieve a sense of accomplishment, they will have learned the expanse knowledge of various subjects taught, and recieved the skills that come from everday attendance (getting up every morning, studying, test-taking skills, peer relationships, following a set schedule...) But, this simply does not work for some individuals

Why do you think it is smarter? Someone told you? Or, maybe you saw an example?

Well everyone is not previlidged enough to either have an example or good advice. Kids sometimes have so many issues they are not able to get an overview of things and look even a few years into the future.

It's never a child's fault if he skips school, it's the society at large which must ensure that the kids remain in school.

ooh yeah, it's smarter to go to school in the first place and everybody would if their world were a perfect world.

what do you have on your plate at the moment and how much of it were you expecting? i notice that things (plans and ideas) look so good on paper and then you add them damn human beings.

secondary school is one of the important things that you complete in your teen years, ideally. that's while you and your body are going through a certain hell, adjusting to so much of the growth that is demanded of you. and you know, everybody acts like it's your fault that you can't keep up with all that's on your plate.

then if your adult/s go delinquent and you need to start babysitting them.....what then?! oh.....poor example? well, it does happen in some peoples' world.

well i'm gonna wrap this up because i could probably go on for a long time. i think i got my point across though.....do you think?

cuz they think its cool at the time or focus more on jobs. and quiting school doesnt mean you are gonna be a failure in life cuz in this day in age basically you just gotta be in the right place and the right time so a drop out could make like 6 figures depending if he met the right person or they could just go out and get there g.e.d

This is a true story.
I went to college a bit late in life (27)... and majored in physics.
I met two of my best friends ever... and we three were majoring in physics or engineering.
We three were all high school dropouts. Go figure.

PS we all three graduated.
