I agree with Bethany's answer and pretty much everyone else's. So if you don't want to say that Fear is arbitrary and unique to each person that experiences it, then go with a different title.

What about "Fear is only skin deep"?

Like beauty, fear is a subjective interpretation of an objective situation. In other words, fear is a self-generated response and therefore theoretically within the control of the self.

In many cases, we perceive things, events, people the way WE want to perceive them...not as they actually are. Sort of like a preconceived notion... What one person perceives as a fearful situation might be a walk in the park for another person. Your response to a situation or person is based on your perception of the event rather than the event or person as we are, for the most part as humans, in control of our own behaviors. If that is generally similar to your paper, I would understand your choice of title. Good luck.

It means that you yourself are scared of different things & people, being that you are the beholder saying this. It's really not quite hard to figure out as you can also state other words or phrases being in the eye.

I interpret it as fear is ambiguous and not all things/people are scary to everyone. Fear is subjective, not objective.

Well that's my guess.

i think it would mean that we all have different fears, and what's scary to someone might not be scary to another person. like i'm afraid of heights, but you might not be...so going on a tall rooftop would be scary to me, but not to you.
