not if you've ever had the dream to go and talent and ability to compete in the olympics it's not.
I bet you were never a jock, probally bullied and picked on in school by jocks, never pysically able to do many things a lot of kids in school were doing, liked a girl who you didn't get because she liked jocks. Sorry about your sour grapes and sorry life.

It is not a 2 week "party" - it is when the world's best come together to compete, modeled on a thousand-year-old tradition. It is less of a deal now than when I was a kid. It used to be that many athletes had the Olympics as their main dream. Nowadays, more people do their sport for the sake of having fun and fitness and doing local competition, and don't aspire to the Olympics.

No. i do no longer think of it extremely is blown out of proporiton in any respect. This grow to be a extensive tragedy. i do no longer think of it extremely is in many circumstances whilst in comparison with Iraq because of fact there's a civil conflict top now in Iraq and as unlucky and unhappy because it extremely is, deaths are estimated there. In VA Tech have been college scholars and professors getting to understand and coaching what they love. It grow to be a ask your self, it grow to be an unfavorable ingredient for the school, for the families and acquaintances, and for the rustic. some human beings might care greater approximately human beings. yet Iraq probable cares greater approximately Iraq. in basic terms like quite a few different u . s . a . places their voters first. i'm no longer attempting to sound obnoxious or rude i'm in basic terms pointing out that this may well be a fact of existence. The VA Tech tragedy grow to be additionally closer to abode. The sufferers deserve their memories informed. in spite of the undeniable fact that i visit declare i think of the gunman Cho is getting way too lots exposure. The sufferers deserve greater interest than the killer. some human beings have self assurance there's no such ingredient as unfavorable press and by showing his video message, photos, etc. the media may well be inspiring yet another youthful, interest-yearning, distrubed newborn to devote an analogous act as a fashion to get the comparable interest. The sufferers deserve greater interest and the killer merits much less.

I would think that spending the money on a positive, world-uniting event is a good thing. There are so many other things that our world thinks is important that shouldn't be. It also promotes real role models. I don't know if I am getting my point across....it is after midnight, so forgive me. Anyway, I'm pro-Olympics.

Bravo Jack!
I believe that the world-uniting ability of the event makes it worth the money. Role models are very important to our youth. Especially role models with active lifestyles and goals that aren't solely about money. The money is going to be spent anyway, it's better that it's spent on something positive.
