Well, Joel, I will miss my dad for his steadfast love and his integrity. He gives super advice.
On the other hand, I am not convinced that I will miss my mother at all. On a serious note, she was raised in an orphanage in Ireland run by nuns. It was a horrible place. She's got a lot of mental issues. And she really hurt us all the time (her family). Very abusive woman. Still is. So, I may miss some aspects of her, but I doubt that I will really feel "lost" without her.
How about you?

I lost my Mom when I was young and my Dad 6 years ago. I miss everything, the family bond, the guidance, the laughter, the hugs, etc.
If you still have your parents keep that bond strong, because the day they are gone, that will be the day you will start missing them, and that stays with you forever.

My mom died almost 4 years ago, and I miss the little things about her. The way she would dance around the living room to cheesy music, the way she couldn't pronounce Oprah's name, the way she smelled, the look on her face when she was pissed off and chasing my brother and me around the house...I just miss HER. Cherish your parents while they are here, because when they're gone, you will realize how much you love and miss them.

My dad died 39 years ago March 2007 and my mom has been depressed ever since, but she had to finish raising me and my brother, and she had to go get a job cause my dad left no money or insurance to his family...
Now my mom is in a nursing home and can't take care of herself and is sick a lot...
I ended up making sure she is cared for by the nurses and paying for her room and board...
It is a terrible sight to see your parents go downhill like my mom did...

Gosh just thinking about it makes me wanna cry....
Anyway, I would miss their laughters, voices, when they discipline me, the food they cook, their love & care, basically their presence & just them being there when you need someone to talk to....They're the people who actually really loves & cares for you.....
