Revelation is making something evident or disclosing. Self-revelation means making something evident or disclosing something about yourself, mostly to yourself.

If you discover and accept somethng about yourself, it's self-revelation.

Saying someting about yourself to others that they would normally know. It is also known as 'self-disclosure'.
Probably used when you are meeting new people, in therapy, in a new group, etc.
