Very few people do. Many give up the venture because it not profitable since they spend more money than they actually make.

It takes a certain personality type as well. Plus there are required meetings that not everyone has the desire or time to attend.

Nope... Dont rely on MLM alone.. there are other nice professions that gives decent income.. In MLM concept, only people who are in Top would get the benefit without much effort ( because at the time that product would be newer in the market ) but the story of lower legs are different here..

Iam saying this because, Once I was an MLM Promoter..

Can some... yes. All no. Simply because the company is a classic Multi-Layer Marketing plan (MLM) therefore, it relies on many people to work and make very little money in order for a few to make a lot.

If you move up the chart far enough, someone's bound to have gotten there. I personally know someone who's been doing it for several years. It hasn't made him rich, but he's gotten to the point that he has almost no involvement any more and makes about $4,000 per month passive income. Not bad.
