There is a difference. A nurses aide works either in a hospital or in a nursing home. An aide gets the pleasure of doing all the dirty work the nurse does not have time for due to all the paperwork the nurse has to do for each patient in her shift. Via, making the beds, cleaning out bed pans, filling water jugs for patients, bed baths, etc. A home health aide goes into ones home to help with with vairous activities they can't do anymore. I enjoyed being a home health aide more than a nuses aide so much more. In the home you get to spend more time with the patient one on one. You may cook for the client, do light cleaning of the home, give baths, help with basic daily routine. As a nurses aide you don't get time to visit with a client. I really didin't like that. The nursing home I worked for always was short aides on any given day. I would show up for work on my wing and be the only aide for 30 patients. Every nursing home has those days=more than they will ever admit to. I actually made friends as a home health aide with clients. I had to opportunity to treat people with tons more respect in their home versus the nursing home.

I believe that a home health aide has to have more experience in nursing and be able to draw blood and possibly start Iv's. A nurses aide work in a nursing home or hospital and does not have to have as much experience. They generally just need to have a course in nursing assisting.
