With the departure of Aaron Brooks from the team and Maruqes Tuiasosopo ready to head out via free agency, the Raiders will have a decision to make: stick with Andrew Walter or pick a QB with their first draft choice.

Since Al Davis does not seem to pay too much attention to the game of football, look for him to actually bypass Russell and Quinn for the #1 spot and select Calvin Johnson ... this should open up the WR game since there is heavy speculation that Moss will be departing soon. Porter has already made his move to stay, and adding Johnson should help provide the offensive boost that this team needs so badly. However, their first pick should be to fix that Offensive line and Joe Thomas would do that perfectly.

Unfortunately they will go with Russell. The reason I say unfortunately is because the man showed up the NFL Combine 15 pounds heavier and 100% body fat (not really but looked like it). It was obvious he took no time off to workout. Also, the Raiders will almost without a doubt NOT take Calvin Johnson, who I believe is the best player in this year's draft (I mean he's 6'5" and 239 lbs and just ran a 4.35 in the 40, the third fastest among receivers at the draft) because one of the coaches for the Raiders has already said that Moss and Porter will be ON the team next year. Also, I'm sure they won't take Joe Thomas because the Raiders did pick Robert Gallery with the number 2 pick couple years ago. Finally, Quinn won't go here b/c, as someone stated earlier, Al Davis loves big QB's who can throw the ball a mile.

Hands down JaMarcus Russell.

Having Andrew Walters as your returning QB should be enough reason alone to draft a QB straight out. But they need a guy who is big, physical, with an arm that can throw the ball on the move (cause face it people, he's gonna be moving A LOT). They also need a guy who's going to take a few good shots and still be able to get up and go.

I think if you pick somebody like Quinn, by mid season behind that God Awful line he'd be wrapped in cellophane and ice bags from the neck down to stop the pain. Jared Lorenzen was a big QB in college (Kentucky), behind an awful offensive line and he's now Manning's backup in New York. He's also near impossible to get down. I look at Russell in the same respect.

I say go with the big tough QB who can throw, then use the rest of your picks to build a line to protect him.

they should and will take jamarcus russell. even though calvin johnson is without a doubt the top player in the draft, the raiders need a qb even more than they need johnson, and russell is a great qb. they won't take quinn, partly because he isn't as big and strong (especially avoiding the rush) as russell, and partly because he doesn't have the same arm strength that russell does. if they didn't so desperately need a qb, i think they might trade down to 6-10 range with someone who really really wants johnson, and get another pick or two, or a player

im a bay area guy so i know whats going on. all mock drafts have the raiders taking russell. which makes sense because al davis loves to throw the ball deep and russell is mobile and has a cannon for an arm. but if they lose moss and porter they can go with calvin johnson. but they really need a good offensive line. their defense is good but there is nobody that can protect the QB. maybe they can trade down for more picks and hope they can pick up joe thomas.

They should draft JaMarcus Russell. It has shown that the Raiders don't have consistent QB. I believe Russell is a good fit because he reminds me of Donovan McNabb.

Russell all day. Brady Quinn is gonna be a bust. Don't trade Russell, he's a workhorse and will deliver a chance at a the playoffs in the coming years.

I think they should trade the pick for a late first round pick and pick up a decent OL.
