Even doing a search on Yahoo Answers can be helpful. This question comes up several times a day. No one can give you a good answer because there's just too much info.

The only thing I'd like to mention is to consider applying to schools that guarantee admission to their med schools (provided you keep up basic requirements of course) to high school students. They're not too common, but they exist. See Northwestern for example.

There is an association of all the American medical schools and they have an extensive website that tells all about how med school admissions work, what majors kids follow at college, the MCATs and all of that. If you google around you can easily find it.

At the moment what you need to do is get the best marks you can get in HS and try to get into a top college.

Be sure to take all the math, chemistry and physics you can, APs if possible. They will help you prepare for the tough college courses that are prereqs for med school. You need to get the best marks you can in those subjects.
