A gaming "moment" is a rare point in a game which makes you sit back and go, "Wow" - when Aeris dies, when Kirby releases the Nightmare, when you're first surprised by a pink demon in Doom. What's the greatest experience a game producer has yet created?

When Samus was revealed to be a female. I think it was the first time in gaming history that the protagonist was a female. She's the one that opened the door for other female video game characters like Lara Croft, the Dead or Alive girls, Jill Valentine, etc.

The first time someone did a Finisher in Mortal Kombat at an Arcade...nobody had ever seen anything like that in a game....I remember people flipping out. I'm sure everybody here will remember the first time they saw a charred skeleton fall to its knees, or a head being ripped off with the spinal colomn hanging down. That was a great moment in gaming.

I think you hit it with Aeris, though it was really sad. Another emotionally moving moment for me was in the next game when Rinoa rescued Sqaull from that wasteland during the time compression following Ultimecia's defeat. When the whole field opened up around him and the light broke through.

The best moment for me is in Star Wars: Knights of the Old REpublic I when you are facing Darth Malak for the first time and he reveals to you that you (the main character) is Darth Revan.

The first cutscene of Metroid Prime, where you see a vast, crumbling, abandoned space station, and Samus' ship zooms over to it in dramatic, sci-fi, flair, and the haunting melodies of the revamped Metroid tunes guiding the scene from start to finish. that was one of the most incredible gaming moments for me, and the game just started!!!
