Most liberal arts colleges require a semester or two of math, science, phys ed, english (composition), a foreign language, and sometimes a history class. This would also be when you take your prerequisites for your major.

General ed courses for the most part especially if you are undecided. Classes such as rhetoric and comp, a math class, perhaps a science class and maybe a basic class or two on what you are going to school for. Cause with general ed courses they are required for pretty much any degree you have to take them anyway so might as well get them out of the way, right?
