Wow. I have not seen a wooden gutter since childhood, and I'm 65!

Redwood is virtually indestructable. Wonderful building material! The only maintenance I would think is necessary is to keep the gutters free of debris. I'd get up on the roof each spring with a garden hose and clean them really good. They may last 50 years!

Wooden gutters? They exist?

I dunno about this redwood business. In my experience, wood and water do not mix well.

I would perform the following maintenance:

1: Remove wooden gutters.

2: Install aluminum gutters.

3: Scrape gunk out of gutters every year.

4: paint as desired.

Is this a trick question? Untill something causes it to break! They should last forever. Keep clean like normal
