I've heard many rumors that toothpaste works when it comes to reducing redness of pimples. Is this true? Or does it reduce the size?

Toothpaste is a very mild abrasive, and such abrasives have been used for the removal of blackheads and other facial blemishes, which are not deep rooted. The Menthol contained in the toothpaste acts like a disinfectant and an analgesic actually reducng swelling. I have head of cases where people have used toothpaste(Not Gel) to treat minor burns and insect bites too!

It depends on your skin and the type of toothpaste you use. You need to be familiar with the ingredients of the toothpaste. A lot can actually cause redness to your skin both by drying your healthy skin or burning\irritating the skin. Check for warnings, if there aren't any, try it in a place where you can easily conceal any redness if it occurs.

Yes. If you put it on when you first get the pimple it dries it out quickly, reducing the size & making it hard to notice as well as easier to get rid of.
It also works putting toothpaste on mozzie bites because when it dries it out it makes it stop itching.
I didn't believe either but I tried it because I had a massive zit & was desperate, I was pleasantly surprised!

If there's a big area, don't do it, you'll be better off with tea tree oil of benzoyl peroxide. But if you have one that's the size of a volcano, you can always try, but leave it on for 10 mins at most, then wash off with lukewarm water. It does help bring down the swelling a little.

I heard someone on TV a couple days ago mention that Visine eyedrops can get rid of the redness, supposedly.

Possibly the bleaching agent in some toothpastes (if still allowed by national standards) could do something, but otherwise it sounds like total bollocks.

Yes it does work. Put it on at night and remove in the AM. What it does is it actually burns it off.

I also heard it. I was trying it for a long time. There was not even a change. So my dear one, stop having such a useless thought.
