Well if you go by Sagarin and RPI ratings, ACC is clearly better. It ain't even close.

This year Sagarin has ACC as top ranked conference, and the Big East is 6th.

RPI has 9 ACC teams ranked in the top 50 this year.

ACC is pretty roundly considered to be the premier college hoops league in the modern era. There's really not much of an argument about it.

Big East was better for a period of about 5 years in the mid-80s, but since then it hasn't been much of a contest.

Neither, it's all about the SEC. From the top to the bottom the SEC is the toughest conference in the nation and if they weren't busy beating up on each other then there wouldn't even be an issue.

But with that being said and since we're comparing the Big East and the ACC, it's definitely the ACC. The Big East is overrated and the only thing that's making them look good is their records among conference opponents. You pit any team in the Big East against, say a North Carolina, they're gonna get raped.

Top to bottom and on paper, the Big east SHOULD be better. But it isn't right now. Especially with teams like Clemson and FSU surging like they are. It's a down year for the Big East, I think. You can't say the ACC is superior just cos of Duke and UNC.

The Big East has a LOT of traditinally solid programs that are down right now, too. Cincinatti is usually a good team. UConn is down. Syracuse is down. What the heck ever happened to St. Johns?

So this year? ACC is definitely tops when you compare it to the Big East. No argument. Look for that to change in the future, though. Unless these typically bad ACC teams can sustain their success.

Please, is that a real question? The ACC! Out of 12 ACC teams 7 of them have been ranked for at least a week this season. The Big East has 16 teams. Out of that maybe only 6 teams have been ranked throughout this season. Either way, the ACC is consistently better and has so many more rivalry games. The football rivalries help feed the basketball rivalries too and vice versa.

LOL, VT might get their asses kicked by utilising WVU. vast East is definitely the greater advantageous convention, shall we no longer ignore the great East champion has gained their BCS bowl video games interior the previous 2 years, alongside with WVU thumping the SEC champions Georgia interior the Sugar Bowl. Oh and while is the final time the ACC champion gained their bowl sport? provide ya a sprint it became the ninety 9 season.

Definitely the ACC.

Big East always comes up 'small' in head-to-head play.
