I think the Cubs will win the division, but it will be close. The Cardinals will win the Wild Card. but, either team could win the division or the Wild Card.

Its a good question and Im bias toward the red legs before I begin this whole spill. The cubs, I think, spent too much money and they have too little talent for the money they spent. True you got Soriano, Ramirez, and Lilly but those are only three players. And Lilly, to me, isnt a proven 10 million dollar pitcher.. hes a nice guy to have on a team, but not worth 10 mil. The astros lost some pitching in the free agency and sure they could have gotten some other ones (jeff garcia, etc). Instead they go after Carlos Lee and they are hoping, yes hoping by a 20-80 chance, that Clemens comes back but thats doubtful. The two teams I really like are the Cardinals and the Reds. The Cardinals are going to be themselves althought they lost some pitching and have had some internal problems (for those of you not watching baseball news on espn, Rolen and La Russa), but they are still the team to beat in the NL Central, even after only winning 83 games last year. They won the World Series though so why not? The Reds on the other hand, who people really dont pay alot of attention to, have a great team coming up. Harang (lead the league in strikeouts and other catagories) and Arroyo (lead the league in innings pitched, followed by his team mate Harang) are possibly the best 1,2 pitchers in the National League. Then youve got a better pen then last year with the addition of Stanton and others. Theyve got more veterans on the team and Griffey might move over to right field. They also have a prospet by the name of Homer Bailey that can beam the ball up to 98 mph (actually he was at his 96th pitch one day with 98 mph) and he will be called up sometimes soon if not starting with the club. Im going with the redlegs but if not them the cards.

I am going to go with the team that improved the most in the offseason..The Chicago Cubs. Soriano was a huge add. He is starting to become more flexible with the outfield. Felix Pie will be brought up soon and he will be a huge factor. They have Floyd, and Jacques Jones also in the outfield so they are set there. If Big Z (Carlos Zambrano) can stay consistent and keep his head cool, he will be another big factor. They added a nice reliever in Neal Cotts. And one of the most overlooked players on the Cubs of this year is Kerry Wood. He will be in the bullpen this year. If he can stay somewhat healthy, he will play a huge role in the Cubs' playoff run. Their Bullpen is young and will develop this year. Their starting pitching is the only thing that may be a little streaky. If Prior can stay healthy, he'll be a factor as well (he is still only 26 years old). Also, if Derrek Lee can be the way he was 2 years ago, their hitting will be good. Michael Barrett behind the plate is great and Aramis Ramirez taking the spot in the hot corner will be great. Pinella was a good addition as well. Soo in short, the Cubs only need to worry about their starting pitching, their middle infielders (izturis and derosa may be a little streaky), they also need to worry about their experience: This is a young team and may be too inexperienced.

I think the Central is the Cubs division to lose. They clearly have the talent to win 85+ games. If the rest of the division wasn't so bad, they wouldn't have a shot, but 83 wins got it done last year. Look for the Marlins to finish second behind the Mets and take the Wild Card.

That division is as up in the air as the AL Central, but the teams in the NL Central are not great, but only average, but if i had to pick, i would say the cards because of Pujols and the experience. But the NL Wildcard wil not come from the NL Central, i can assure that.

I think its going to be cubs who wins the NL Central. The Cards are going to win the wild card in a close race with the astros.

Like the American League, the central of the NL is loaded with good teams. I look for Houston, St. Louis and Milwaukee to all compete for the title. They will have to fight with the West for the Wild Card. The Cubs still lack two quality starters, and have bad defense to compete.

Cubs will win. Cards have a weak rotation, and so do the astros. The Brewers could sneak up on everybody and take it. But, the Cubs offense has a lot of depth that people are overlooking and i think that will get them the division, with about 85 wins or so...but it will be a close race.

The wild card team will be the Phllies

I don't think the NL central is a powerhouse I think that if they do have a wild card team it'll be because one of the 3 really bad teams in that divison is really bad.
