Do people really care about the state of affairs in our country, or in our world for that matter? WE are lied to on a grand scale and we just watch t.v. and keep acting like nothing is wrong. We're a population that is scared to question real situations... And then to add to it we don't act...and why can't "normal" citizens hold press confrences?

People are so busy surviving, they do not care. I must admire whoever orchestrated this dilemma. I feel helpless also... People in America are truly lost and the only hope is something really bad to happen to us, that is what wakes people up from apathy. Pain, I think we have run off the cliff and are still turning our feet unknowing of the fall we are about to take. Then everyone will want to blame someone for our collective stupidity. It is sad, we have the power to do so much good in the world, but will throw it away for our own arrogance, pride, and a few rich people trying to make more money.

Yes, we care. But it's hard to be a lone voice crying in the wilderness. Government has become so big and so complex that it's hard for most citizens to grasp its intricacies, so they just give up trying.

This is not what the Founding Fathers wanted. Consider this quote from Alexander Hamilton from Federalist #62 -

"It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is to-day, can guess what it will be to-morrow. Law is defined to be a rule of action; but how can that be a rule, which is little known, and less fixed?"

Accordong to Hamilton, one of the men resposible for the framework of our democracy, the laws should be few, simple, and stable. Instead, they are many, incomprehensible, and ever-changing. All of this makes it hard for the average citizen to even understand what's going on, much less devise a coherent plan to oppose it.

And yet, there are many who DO successfully oppose the government. Martin Luther King. Susan B. Anthony. Abbie Hoffman. Malcom X. Cindy Sheehan. It CAN be done - you just have to be willing to sacrifice everything you have in order to get everything you believe in.

News channels don't cover the good news. I'm sure the government has to keep some things secret. There's probably alot that we don't know about or shouldn't know about. Then there's probably alot of things covered up that we deserve to know about. We need to be more like the Amish. Be self sufficient, help our neighbors and friends because we care and keep as much government away as possible. Too many governement programs. Both the republicans and democrats spend too much money on worthless causes.

The government likes to keep people under control by scaring them away from asking too many questions. Have you noticed when someone starts pressing questions at press confrences they always seem to end it right there. Also once people begin to realise that the government is using terrorism to control them and get their votes the terror level raises from yellow to orange (or whatever color they are using now). Mostly fear is the ideal way of controling people according to the government

Actions against abuses particularly by leaders must be ventilated in the proper forum so that they will be properly penalized. Unity among the citizens is needed for this problem. Otherwise, watching them on TV and reading about them on various media will be futile.

Yes, we care. Each of us must do our part to keep the truth from being sidestepped and hidden by corrupt officials agendas. As far as press conferences, those are for the famous and infamous. Headline grabbers.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are in denial about the real reason for the wars there are and choose a "safe" position by obeying the President (who lied). They see a distant war in terms of "winning or losing" , like a game of football. It is unreal to observe them
