Do guys feel uncomfortable when they stand below 6 feet tall as adults? If so, why do so many men wish to be 6 foot 2 or taller even though short people tend to live longer?

For the same reason that a lot of women wish they had bigger breasts. Our society tells us that we are supposed to look a certain way, and it is hard not to get it in your psyche that it might be true, even though it isn't. Ever hear a girl say she is looking for a "short, dark man?" If you have, it was an oddity. So this stigma exists on short men, whether it should or not, and that makes them wish they were taller.
I'd like to know where you got your information on short men living longer. I doubt this is really true. If it is, it is probably a statistical coincidence. What biological reason would cause a shorter person to live longer? Ultimately it does not matter. Tell a lot of women that they will live longer if they have small breasts, and that will not change much either. We tend to want to be the example of what everyone thinks is "ideal."

It's called Short Man Syndrmoe or a Napoleon complex. They think that if they're shorter than average then they're less than a man... They have an inferiority complex. They want to be taller to compensate for their lack of machoness.
This "syndrome" also causes short men to act in other ways to compensate, yelling at women, taking over continents, etc...

They do? I am 5'9" and happy with my height. I think a major problem is that guys think they got to be taller than the girl they are dating. Basically an inferiority complex if the girl is taller.

I think that is because it's easier to find a girl- after all a guy that is 6'2" has chance with more women than a guy that's 5'6"- I myself am 5'7" and would not like to date someone my height. Yes, I did discriminate against short guys, b/c it made me feel uncomfortable to go out with someone that is shorter than me...
