There are 2 differences, price and brand. They both function the same.

Third party component cables are usually cheaper than the first party cables. There are exceptions, such as Monster Cables.

The other difference is that 3rd party companies may not know about the Wii as much as Nintendo, so they MIGHT not be as reliable as the Nintendo cables.

With 3rd party cables, there's also the possibility that it will not work, so you'll have to bring it to the store to return it. That's just based on my personal experience.

Most will function. Most WON'T have a problem. Now in cases like controller I'd be a little more worried with it being so new. Anyway though the third party will usually be cheaper. Although I'd get one like Mad Catz or Pelican, which are the "name brand" of third parties so that I know I am getting quality.

I even have the third partyones, and now and back i'm getting a tousled show, dark, fuzzy and finished of strains. If I get rid of and reinsert the cable the image is effective. i do no longer nkow if I in basic terms have a foul set of cables, or if the completed line is crap. whilst they artwork top ninety 9.9999% the image is astounding

I just ordered component cables from Nintendo and got them in about a week. They work really well as far as I can tell and they were only about $40. Definitely worth looking into if you have a HDTV. You get what you pay for.
