My friend has limewire on her computer and today she tried to burn a CD for me. Ther computer kept insisting there was no disc in the drive so instead of making a CD, is there anyway she can send a song to me through email?

Send the file as an attachment in a email.

Your friend can email the song to you but many email programs have a limitation on the size of attachments. A typical mp3 file is 3 to 5 MB. You would not be able to attach the file in Outlook or Hotmail. I am not sure about Yahoo or Gmail.

The easiest (and faster) way is to send the file through a chat application or IM, such as MSN or Yahoo Messenger. Both of you can chat online while the file is being sent in the background. If both of you have decent broadband Internet connections, it will only take a few minutes.

all she has to do is compose a message like usual and where it says attach file click that and where it says browse click that and it will go into your pc's documents. depending on where she stores her downloads push the green arrow down and look for the file she wants to send (usually in shared folder or my music) and push open that will put the file in your email and push attach file. once it gets done attaching it will take you back to the email screen press send

hope this was clear and helpful
