Over the past 50 years Communism has been the enemy. Why does the American government insist on democracy being the only way and why does the American government not take care of their own people before worrying about taking care of every other country?

I am not wasting my time contradicting all of the simple-minded thoughts of these people. I would just like to add that when i was a child communism was the propoganda used to control the people, now it is terrorism.

At some point we will all realize that we are here to help each other. Socialism is only necessary when the religion fails to teach unity and brotherhood. The true source of the problem has always been human greed, A few individuals always feel more entitled than others, and forget their equality. These same people love the word lazy.
Communism was an attempt to prevent a few from stealing from the majority, equality.... (what a strange word)
socialism is policing the rich to help the lesser fortunate....
and finally capitalism is just another word for letting the rich have everything while the majority stay poor....

here is the result of capitalism

Fear is not the right word to use. Most if not all Communistic countries are some version of dictatorships in practice. We (The USA) do not feel that is right for us. The "rub" between the two is Communists by practice seem to want to be rulers of the world and the US promotes self determination by ballot not bullet government. If other countries did take care of their own and not try to push their agendas on others, we would not be inclined to become involved. Before you jump to any conclusions, take a look at the foreign aid the US sends abroad every year. The real issue is a humanitarian one not a political one. If we stopped sending our aid, and focused solely on ourselves, many third world countries would be in dire states.

Unfortunately, because just like children, our government is afraid of its own shadow. The thin line between a Representative Republic (aka U.S.A.) and Communism is the semblance (sp?) of customer service (read "Democractic input"). The other less sexy answer is the propoganda machine selling our children on the fact that Democracy is the one true form of government. Pyschologically we cant as a nation even agree on what constitutes basic skills, much less have a widespread debate on the virtues of governmental structure. So, we have a situation where people entrusted with our governance abuse their position. Simple as that.

My God; you are so smart! Wait a minute, I thought that you said communication, not communism; sorry I'm a victim of "no child left behind" and can say Fu*k you seven ways in Mexican but can't read a word larger than 5 letters.

The US is a capitalism based government, just as all of the free nations of the world are; go ahead, let that sink in a few minutes in case your also a victim or NCLB.

Communism is a form of government based upon Socialism which is just another form of WELFARE. Well, the Dem's want a welfare nation as it gives them the ultimate power over their constituents (is that the correct word?), er people who vote em into office.

So, Capitalism; economic slavery rules. Communism; physical slavery rules. Take yur pick, I gotta go and learn what the hel* kind of weird finger sign I need to know to make it homie tonight.

Communism or Socialism? either way you cut it, both have proven themselves to not work. In their purest form (on paper) they look great. But they leave out the human factor in the equation -- and that is greed. Someone will always want more than the others and in communism, what you end up with is Stalinism.
And socialism, a close relative of communism, by its very nature, undermines capitalism. For all of its evil, capitalism promotes growth and competition. It rewards those who do well and is punishing for those who fail. Sociaism, removes competiton from the equation. It promotes laziness, complacency and mediocrity. Why struggle to get ahead in life, if in the end, the government is only going to take your gains away from you and give it to those who refuse to work? It is actually enslaving. Everyone becomes completely dependent upon big brother government for everything. What you end up with, is a hurricane blowing in, the local goverment running and hiding and those who have always depended upon the government for everything, left sitting on rooftops after the levies burst. Thanx, I'll pass. "We the People..." For and by the people...

You will first have to learn about the religion that started Communism. Most people do not know that Communism, Nazism, etc. where started from religion. As for religion, most people don't know the difference between religion and Christianity and believe it all to be one in the same. It's not. That said, most people don't even know the history of their own religion: Who started it and for what reason. Of course, most people would say to serve and learn about Christ Jesus. Their answer would not be true. This book covers more than just Communism. It's free on line to read. Just click on the arrow at the botton of its page when you are ready to go on to it's next page. The name of the book is titled "The Godfathers". The website is owned by Jack Chick. That is why it reads "chick".com...

Government leaders are not afraid (and never were) of communism. It was just a means to control the American public. They want to keep voters in a state of constant fear, and terrorism has replaced communism as the preferred scare tactic.

The government does not provide for the American people because it does not care about the American people. America’s politicians care only about themselves. And, they are doing quite well. The war on terror is generating huge, even unprecedented, profits and is solidifying the power of those who administer the nation.

It is the American government, not terrorists, who are taking away our freedom and liberty.

We need an enemy to distract us from our own problems and to say the our fellow Americans we are better than the rest of the world. Note, everyone here keep saying how much better off financially we are to the communist, even though country who are far more socialistic than we are do better in most indices. Particularly Benelux (low land Countries)(I think size of the country is more a factor on their success rather than what side of the table their government sits though). Plus Communism to America is a rejection of everything we're about. Monetaristic and selfish gains. This is true for both parties. For those who are about to call me UnAmerican, I voted for Bush (Only once though. Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice.)

The government doesn't like anything that doesn't go along with the new system they are trying to implement... THAT is all I can say about that. And if it is so bad why do we still work with some leaders from communist nations?? because they all work together, that's why damn it sucks.

Communism didn't take care of its people either. Communism only took care of the Communist leaders.
